Durant Main Street announced Grandpa’s Neighbors will be this week’s featured band for Music on Market Square. The Stephens Boys will be their special guests. The public is invited to the outdoor stage at First and Evergreen in Downtown Durant to hear music in a relaxed atmosphere. It will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Grandpa’s Neighbors is a family music group made up of a mother and her daughters from Bennington. The girls play guitar, bass, mandolin, autoharp and fiddle and sing country gospel music.

Their truth-filled messages always point back to Jesus, the source of their strength. The inspiring, moving and often witty lyrics encourage both the mind and the soul. Their tight harmony is sweet and simple, not taking away from the message of the song and blessing anyone who appreciates music.

Their music will be available for purchase at the performance. Their titles include “Use What You’ve Got,” “Assurance, and I’ve Gotta Cross Over.” They travel all over the United States.

“Grandpa’s Neighbors is a very popular group, and we always have a great turnout when they play. Their special guests are a treat as well,” Durant Main Street Program Manager Donna Dow said.

For more information, contact Durant Main Street at 924-1550. The concerts are free, and attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs.
