Ima Gene(Mize) Wiggins, 76, of Bennington passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011, in Denison, TX. Ima Gene was born on May 8, 1935 in Normangee, TX to Orvan Gary Mize and Bessie Eugenie (Russell) Mize. She graduated from Conroe High School and then attended nursing school at St. Phillips in San Antonio, TX. She worked as a Certified Operating Nurse. Ima Gene married Ben Wiggins Jr. on June 8, 1952, in Conroe, TX and they moved to Bryan County in 1977 coming from San Antonio, TX. Ima Gene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bennington, she loved to crochet and being with her great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father; two brothers Joe Walter Mize and Glynn Edwin Mize and one sister Myra Elaine Mensch.

Ima Gene is survived by her husband Ben Wiggins Jr of the home; one son Ben Wiggins and wife Lisa of San Antonio, TX; four daughters Sarah Allen and husband John of Bokchito, OK, Sherri Stone and husband Joey of Maud, TX, Nancy Swearengin of Bennington, OK and Elizabeth Fernandez of Ft. Smith, AR, 17 grandchildren Kasey Wiggins, Heather Smith and husband Jamie, Derrick Brumley, Marshall Teague, Kendra Teague and husband Clayton Day, Cassandra Allen, Michael Terry Sherrer and wife Amanda, Amanda Ragland and husband Adam, Melissa Sherrer and husband David Moya, Jeremy Stone and wife Mary Jane, Manda Earnest and husband Jeremiah, Mollie Payne and husband Wesley, Stephaine McDaniel and husband James, Laurin Coffey, Ben Coffey, Tanner Coffey and Brook Dietz, and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Bennington. Interment will follow at Bennington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Family hour will be 6-8 PM Friday, June 3, 2011 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
