Durant Main Street announced John “Butch” Cusher will be this week’s featured performance for Music on Market Square. The public is invited to the outdoor stage at First and Evergreen in Downtown Durant to hear good music in a relaxed atmosphere on Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m.
John “Butch” Cusher also known as johnboy’s Country Gospel, One-Man-Band, uses a variety of instruments to bring out his musical style. He designed and built his very own foot-operated ‘contraption’ which plays six acoustic instruments, simultaneously. These instruments consist of a bass box, guitar, mandolin, kick drum, tambourine and cowbell. All the while he uses h upper body to play the banjo or dobro and sing or play harmonica. Grandpa’s Neighbors will be sharing the stage with Butch to play serious gospel music and they always look forward to the opportunity to share their music.
Cusher also has a CD available now, check out his website at www.reverbnation.com/johnboyscountrygospelonemanband
The weekly Thursday night concerts are free, and attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs to enjoy a stress-free time in downtown Duarant. For more information, contact Durant Main Street at 580-924-1550
