Larry Dyson Motors splits with Ada

Larry Dyson Motors win streak was snapped at nine games with an opening loss to Ada Thursday. Durant dropped the first game of the doubleheader, 5-1, before rebounding with an 11-1 run-rule in the nightcap.

Durant is now 25-13, but has some uncertainty with the next scheduled contest. Larry Dyson Motors was set to host Burkburnett Sunday and Tuesday, but both games were canceled. Coach Jared Howard expressed an effort to pick up games in replacement. The next scheduled contest would be Thursday, hosting Vanoss at 6 p.m.

Ada 5, Durant 1

Justin Divinney walked and scored Durant’s only run in the seventh inning, and Durant was without a player with multiple hits. Brandon Wells, Cameron Green and Travis Caraway were each 1-for-3, and Anthony Trevino went 1-for-4.

Tomas Duffek took the loss for Durant. He went three innings, walked three, struck out six, allowed four hits and three earned runs. Greg Howell tossed the last three innings, walking one with one strikeout and one hit allowed.

Durant 11, Ada 1

Aaron Chalk scattered two hits in five innings, giving up a home run in the bottom of the fifth to break up his shutout attempt. Chalk walked just one with four strikeouts.

Brandon Wells was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs to lead the offense. Trevino walked three times and scored two runs, while Chalk was 1-for-2 with a double, RBI and two runs.

Ethon McBride also scored two runs after batting 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Tyler Martin was 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Pancho Lopez was 1-for-3 with a double and run scored.
