Montie R. Moore a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the age of 97 years 5 months and 25 days. She was born in Roberta, Oklahoma on Tuesday, June 1, 1915 to William Leonard and Lenora Bell (Bellamy) Fry. Montie was married to Delbert Moore on May 19, 1934. Delbert preceded Montie in death on March 31, 1976.
Montie was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church and a RSVP volunteer at Oakridge Manor Nursing Home. She was also a member of the church choir and taught the 4 year old Sunday , School Class for a number of years. Montie liked music, reading and being outside with her flowers. She loved family reunions because her family was the passion of her life.
Mrs. Moore was survived by her; sons, Jim Moore and wife La Rue of Odessa, Texas and Paul Moore and wife Judy of Plano, Texas; daughters, LuEl Crawford and husband Sandy of Durant, Oklahoma and Debbie Knudtson of Durant, Oklahoma; brother, Bill Fry and wife Breta of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lenora Fry; husband, Delbert Moore; sons, Terry and William Moore; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Family Hour will be from 6-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel with Rev. Dan McLemore officiating. Interment will be at the Highland Cemetery.
