Myrtle Faye Youree Carr, 89, of Durant passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2012, in the Durant Hospital. Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at Utica Baptist Church with Bro. Jay Perry and Rev. Kelly Haworth officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery under direction of Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant.The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
Myrtle Faye Carr was born November 3, 1923, in Utica, OK, the daughter of Harry Youree and Myrtle Beale Youree. She graduated from Utica High School and attended SOSU. She married RC “Monk” Carr in January 1943. She and Monk lived in the Utica area all of her life where she and Monk were members of the Utica Baptist Church, and very active members of the community for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Juanita Layhand and Lucille Robnett.
Survivors include husband, RC Carr of the home; daughter, Carolyn Anderson and husband Bob of Durant; son, Mark Carr and wife Debbie of Comanche, OK; grandsons, Chris Haworth and his wife Dee Ann of Utica, Ok.; Kelly Haworth and his wife Tammie of Blandard, OK; Nick Carr and his wife Amanda of Carter, OK; great grandsons, Tyler and Derrick Haworth of Utica, Ok., and Nate, Scott, and Zack Carr of Carter, Ok., Asa and Titus Haworth of Blanchard; great granddaughters Ashlee Carr of Carter, and Lydia Grace Haworth of Blanchard. One brother, Eugene Youree of Sherman, TX; sisters, Pat Trostle of Dension, TX; Dean Sweeney of Durant and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
