Nelda Jo Hartgrove Hamby of Bennington passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012 at the age of 73. Nelda was born August 27, 1939 to Delbert and Myrtle (Snow) Hartgrove. Nelda was a lifelong resident of Bennington where she graduated from high school and made her home with her husband Joe Hamby. She worked as a caregiver for the elderly. Nelda enjoyed taking care of her great grandkids and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Hamby, parents Delbert and Myrtle Hartgrove, two daughters Debbie (Cox) Harris and Sidney Hamby, granddaughter Keysha Minyard, great granddaughter Kali Minyard and a daughter in law Susie Cox.

Nelda is survived by her two sons Troy Cox on Ponca City, OK and Frank Hamby of Bennignton, one daughter Linda Hamby of Ardmore, three granddaughters Amber Brese, Kacee Cox and Kristi Hamby and two grandsons Chris Cox and Joe Hamby and numerous great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Alvie Thornton officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service Durant.
