A motorcyclist was seriously injured after crashing into the back of a pickup early Friday evening on Main Street in Cartwright, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Robert L. Gray, 53, Denison, Texas, was transported by Colbert EMS to Texoma Medical Center in Denison where he is in fair condition with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries.

According to the patrol, John Lee Buck, 62, Cartwright, stopped his Mazda pickup to make a left turn and Gray, who was riding a Honda motorcycle, rear ended the pickup. The cycle then went into a ditch and traveled for 70 feet before coming to a stop.

Buck was not injured.

Alcohol consumption by Gray was cited in Trooper James Reinecker’s report as the cause of the crash. Gray was not wearing a helmet.
