Jason Wilkerson is the new coach. He replaces Phillip Bailey, who resigned.
Wilkerson most recently coached at Skiatook, and before that, at Marlow. He played basketball for East Central University in Ada.
Wilkerson will be meeting with students on Wednesday.
In other action, the board accepted the resignation of John Caraway, Durant Middle School athletic coordinator and teacher.
The board also hired Michelle Little and Gena Smith as fifth-grade teachers for the Durant Intermediate School.
