Silo and Colbert to host district basketball finals this weekend

Five of the eight Bryan County Conference schools will appear in the Class 2A basketball playoffs this Friday and Saturday.

The girls will start things first with Friday night games set for 6:30 p.m.:

Calera girls vs. Haworth (in Colbert). On Saturday night, Colbert will host the winner for the District 6 championship. Both Saturday teams will advance to a regional round which will also be held in Colbert on Feb. 21.

Caddo girls vs. Vanoss (in Silo). On Saturday night, Silo will host the winner for the District 7 championship. Both Saturday teams will advance to the regional round on Feb. 21 in Colbert.

Tushka girls vs. Canadian (in Talihina). Winner will play Talihina on Saturday.

The district bracket on the boys side is a little more complicated. Two opening games will be held at 8 p.m. Friday: Calera at Colbert, and Caddo vs. Vanoss in Silo.

Colbert will host the boys district final on Saturday, with No. 4 Haworth set to play the winner between the Leopards and Calera. Also on Saturday, Silo will host the winner between Caddo and Vanoss.

The Tushka Tigers await the winner between Talihina and Canadian, with the District 4 championship set for 8 p.m. Saturday in Talihina.

The 3A district playoff will be held Friday as well, with Kingston hosting Davis for a girls game at 6:30 p.m. and the boys game at 8 p.m. Both teams will advance to the regional round starting Feb. 21 in Tishomingo.

Also, the brackets for the 5A basketball playoffs have been released by OSSAA, with Durant girls to visit fourth-ranked Tulsa East Central at 8 p.m. on Feb. 21. The boys will play Noble at Tulsa Bishop Kelley High School at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22.
