Southeastern representatives attend ‘Women in Higher Education’ conference

DURANT — Southeastern Oklahoma State University was well represented at the Oklahoma Women in Higher Education’s Fall Conference, held Nov. 20 at the University of Central Oklahoma.

The theme of the conference was “Women Transforming Higher Education: Attitude, Integrity, Humor and Power.” Participants attended a number of breakout sessions on a variety of topics.

Keynote speaker was Dr. Madlyn Hanes, chancellor of Penn State Harrisburg. Other special guests were Chancellor Glen D. Johnson of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education; Dr. Judy Touchton, president of Touchton Partners and WomenLeadersMove.com; and Dr. Donna Burns-Phillips, director of the Office of Women in Higher Education, American Council on Education.

Sharon Robinson, vice president of student affairs at Southeastern, was on the Chief Student Affairs Officers panel discussion.

Attending this professional development conference from Southeastern were Robinson, Michele Claxton, Kay Lynn Roberts, Pat Jones, Dana Bell, Sherry Farris, Gladys Skinner, Carol Coats, Susan Chalk, Cathy Conway, Teresa Hrncir, Camille Phelps, Stephanie Howeth and Liz McCraw.
