Troy Lee Coburn a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 on his birthday at the young age of 18. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Joseph Leonard Merchberger, Jr., and Almeita (Vandenburg) Smith.
Troy was very sociable and liked to be with his friends.
Troy is survived by his mother, Almeita Smith of the home; father, Michael Coburn of Durant, Oklahoma; step-father, James Smith of Durant, Oklahoma; sister, Brandi Coburn of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers, Shayne Sutherland of Dallas, Texas and Levi Smith of Durant, Oklahoma; step-sisters, Cara Hankins of Milburn, Oklahoma and Ashley Zofica of Forrest, Ohio; grandparents, Mary Vandenburg and Allen Estabrook of Wade, Oklahoma; grandparents, Teresa and Homer Vandenburg of Bennington, Oklahoma; grandmother, Joyce Smith of Durant, Oklahoma; grandmother, Carol Roseboom of Durant, Oklahoma; great-grandmother, Juanita Mathews of Durant, Oklahoma; uncles, B.G. Vandenburg of Durant, Oklahoma and Jacob Roseboom of Bokchito, Oklahoma; aunts, Terri Brown of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Melinda Lawrance of Durant, Oklahoma and Samantha Roseboom of Durant, Oklahoma.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Leonard Merchberger, Jr.; grandfather, Ron Roseboom.
Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 PM Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service in his honor will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Buller officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Shayne Sutherland, Dylan Payne, Andrew Strickland, Richard Cash, Jonathan Tucker, Collin Howell, James Smith (alt) and Michael Coburn (alt) .
