DURANT — Two women were seriously injured Thursday after their car went off the railroad Bridge at Rodeo Road and South Ninth Avenue.
According to Durant Police, Samantha Yvonne Jalili, 26, Kingston, was driving westbound on Rodeo Road. As she was making the curve onto the bridge, the vehicle struck the railing on the south side, went off the bridge and onto the railroad tracks.
The vehicle landed on its top and Durant firefighters freed Jalili, plus a passenger, Sarah Ann Smith, 30, Electra, Texas.
Both women were flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Police did not have an update on their conditions at press time this morning, but said that Smith was in very serious condition with head injuries.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, David D. Newman, 81, Wright City, was stopped at the highways 98 and 3 intersection northeast of Wright City when he failed to yield while turning left onto Highway 3.
Newman’s pickup was struck on the driver side by a semi truck driven by Paul Hutchens, 51, Calera. Both vehicles then traveled left of center and struck another semi truck driven by Jimmy J. Johnston, 58, Wright City. Johnston’s semi had already stopped at the time of the accident.

Durant Master Police Officer Rocky McDaniel was dispatched at 2:33 p.m. to the 800 block of West Louisiana Street about a car that left Robert E. Lee School with a man on the hood.
Sgt. Brock Jones found the victim, identified as Jason Crowder, who had cuts to his hands and knees. Crowder told police that he saw a Camaro driving recklessly around the school and he tried to make contact with the driver because of the number of children in the area.
Crowder, the report stated, said he tapped on the driver’s window, trying to get him to roll the window down. Crowder then walked in front of the vehicle and the driver accelerated, hitting Crowder and throwing him on the hood.
The man continued to drive with Crowder on the hood, the report stated, and traveled about four blocks. Crowder told police the driver then turned into a gravel parking lot north of the school and made numerous circles. Crowder then fell off the vehicle. Police said that he declined medical treatment and that witnesses confirmed his statements.
Police found the suspect, identified as Johnathan Olive, in the 1200 block of North Fifth Avenue. He was arrested for suspicion of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, DUI, driving while suspended and possession of marijuana.
