Virginia Ruth Money passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years. She was born on January 18, 1931 in Yarnaby, Oklahoma to Bone and Eleanor (Jackson) Dobbins. She was reared and educated in Yuba, Oklahoma and graduated with the Yuba High School Class of 1949. Virginia was married on March 28, 1952 in Durant, Oklahoma to Coy Money. They moved to Owasso, Oklahoma in 1969, where they raised their family. She attended Southeastern State University, where she received her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. In 1984, she received her Master’s degree in Counseling at NSU. She was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including: baseball games; dance competitions; bingo; reading; and her passion was being Granny.

Loving family members include: Two daughters; Joella Roberts, Cathy Rutledge and her husband Bob, all of Owasso, Oklahoma, Son; Coy Money and his wife Julie, of Owasso, Oklahoma

Seven grandchildren; Tammy Roberts, Tyler Roberts and his wife Heather, Leslie Rutledge

Lisa Dennis and her husband Jason, Cory Money, Gary Money, Charley Money. Three great grandchildren; Colton Roberts, Victorya Roberts

Easton Roberts. One sister; Marynell Ballew and her husband Larry, of Calera, Oklahoma

She was preceded in death by her husband Coy, on December 30, 1978; son-in-law, Troy Roberts; eight siblings and her parents.

Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2010 at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso, Oklahoma. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2011 in the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso, Oklahoma with Reverend Fred Williams officiating. Serving as casket bearers were be Joel Money, Charles Calvin Baker, Charley Money, N. B. Money, Gary Money, Tyler Roberts, Bobby Rutledge, and Colton Roberts. Committal services and interment followed at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Virginia Ruth Money to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3015 East Skelly Drive, Suite #221-A, Tulsa, OK 74105.
