W.T. Gardner, Jr. a resident of Wylie, Texas passed from this life in Durant, Oklahoma on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the age of 80 years 6 months and 30 days. He was born to Walter T. and Mary (Scott) Gardner in Bennington, Oklahoma. W.T. married Jo Ann Harris in Durant, Oklahoma on Monday, February 16, 1953.

W.T. was proud of his Choctaw Indian heritage, and a member of the Church of Christ. He served his county in the United States Army. W.T. was the owner/operator of Savage Precision Fabrication, Inc. He enjoyed raising miniture horses and working with his hands in his garden. W.T. had a servants heart and was always ready to help anyone in need.

Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife, Jo Ann of the home; daughter, Carol Gardner of Rowlett, Texas; son, Scott Gardner of Pampa, Texas; granddaughters, Melissa Garza of Rowlett, Texas, Laura Alaniz of College Station, Texas, Brienna Gardner of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Samantha Gardner of Lake Forest, Illinois; grandsons, Austin Alaniz of Richardson, Texas and Calvin Gardner of Littleton, Colorado; five great grandchildren; brother, Billy Gardner of Bokchito, Oklahoma; sister, Roma Lou Jackson of Bokchito, Oklahoma.

Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Gardner; brother, Roscoe Gardner; sisters, Leetta Loyd, Kathleen Oram and Vivian Lloyd; brother, R.C. Gardner.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Bennington School/Chitwood Center in Bennington, Oklahoma with Bill Abston officiating. Interment will follow at Old Church Cemetery in Bennington. Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Alaniz, Todd Rolen, Michael Brown, Calvin Gardner, Brian McLain, Brent McLain and Heath McLain. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Siegler,Jim Redden, David Craige and Wesley Blackwell.
