Weldon David Taylor was born on November 3, 1932, in Utica, Oklahoma to Roy and Alphie Taylor and went home to be with his lord and savior on February 7, 2013, in Utica, Oklahoma at the age of 80.

Weldon, a lifelong resident of Bryan County graduating from Bokchito School and later married Sylvia Mitchell on August 30, 1952 in Durant, Oklahoma. Weldon served his country in the United States Army from 1954-1956. Weldon enjoyed reading and farming but most importantly spending time will all of his family. Weldon was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; brothers Glenn (Butch) and Donald Lee Taylor. Weldon is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Sylvia of the home; sons Roy Glen Taylor and wife Vickie of Fort Worth, TX, George Weldon Taylor and wife Tina of Willow Park, TX; daughter Pam Carter and husband Keith of Paradise, TX; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. Services to celebrate the life of Weldon will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Utica Baptist Church with Bro. Jay Perry officiating. Family will receive friends at the home of Weldon and Sylvia Taylor. Interment will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery with Christopher Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Jordan Carter, Drew Carter, and Anthony Hunter serving as pallbearers.
