DURANT — Police arrested a man early Friday morning for suspicion of exposing himself at the Walmart parking lot.
Martin Ramirez-Ortega, 33, Durant was charged with indecent exposure and public intoxication.
Patrolman Shane Walker was dispatched at 1:45 that morning after police were called about a man who exposed himself to a woman.
When Walker arrived, he found a man standing beside the wooden fence that separates Walmart from the mobile home park. According to Walker’s report, the man appeared drunk and his jeans were partially down.
Walker arrested the man, later identified as Ramirez-Ortega.
Walker then talked to the victim and she said that she was putting her infant in the car when a Hispanic man yelled at her. She began to leave the parking lot and she saw that he was exposed, the report stated.
In other crime news, a machete-wielding man was captured Sunday afternoon in Cartwright. Deputy Kevin Holt was dispatched to Willafa Woods Road about a suspected drunk driver who had threatened a person with a machete.
Witnesses told Holt that the suspect was “hopped up” on pills and had threatened a man. Holt found the suspect’s van on Briar Drive. The deputy pulled the van over and Holt ordered the driver to get out and onto the ground.
Holt found a machete in the van and also several pills that were later identified as Xanax®, the report stated. The man appeared intoxicated and he was arrested for suspicion of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, DUI and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
A soda pop machine was stolen from Crowley’s Store in Blue, according to a Friday report by Deputy Holt.
David Crowley, the store owner, told the deputy that a Dr. Pepper® machine was stolen from outside his business.
