Children at the Jackie Watson Child development Center were visited by “Dr. Seuss” and some memorable characters Thursday.
To celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday week, Dr. Seuss, played by Head Start Director Kent Watson read “The Cat in the Hat” to the children.
The children have been making Dr. Seuss-themed art projects this week and the rooms were decorated by parents of students and former students of the center.
“Without the parents we couldn’t have done any of it,” said Charlotte Wingo who played Thing 1 during the festivities.
The children also enjoyed the Dr. Seuss inspired Green Eggs and Ham prepared for breakfast by the center’s kitchen.
