The annual Magnolia Festival continues this week, through June 2, at the Choctaw Event Center, 3702 Choctaw Road, in Durant.
Today, booths, art show and vendors opened at 10 a.m. and the carnival will open at 5 p.m. Choctaw traditional dancers will provide entertainment for the audience at 6 p.m. Opening ceremonies, and the crowning of Belle and Beau, will take place at 6:30 p.m. and Kenny Seratt will play at 8:30 p.m.
On Friday, booths, art show and vendors will open at 10 a.m. and the carnival will open at 12 p.m. The art show will close at 6:30 p.m. and the KLBC Texaco Showdown will take place at 9 p.m. and Dustin Perkins will provide entertainment at 9 p.m.
The children’s parade will kick off the last day of the festival on Saturday in downtown Durant at 9:30 a.m. The booths, art show and children’s free events will start at 10 a.m. and a veterans’ reception will be held at RV Park at 10:30 a.m. The carnival will open at 11 a.m., turtle races begin at 12 p.m. and at 3 p.m., children’s free events will end and the local dance will begin. At 6 p.m., the local dance will end and the art show will close at 6:30 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., Spur 503 will provide entertainment.
