Kicking up their heels

Many men walked a mile in red high heels on Saturday in downtown Durant for the “Kick Up Your Heels” walk to bring awareness to the problem of sexual violence against women. The event included the reading of a proclamation for Sexual Assault Awareness Month and several groups won awards for their participation, including Choctaw Nation, MCSO, law enforcement groups and Durant Fire Department.
