Southeast Titleholders Prepare for Miss Oklahoma Pageant

The Miss Southeast Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant and corporate sponsor, First United Bank, invite the community to the Miss SE Oklahoma Send Off Party on Thursday, May 31 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the John Massey Leadership Center at First United Bank at Main and Washington in Durant.

Miss Southeast Oklahoma, Hailey Ellison and Miss Southeast Oklahoma Outstanding Teen, Brittany Trent will provide a sneak peak at their state competition wardrobe, as well as discuss their platforms and perform their talents. The event is open to the community, including past contestants, volunteers and those who are considering competing in the Miss America organization. The event is free and guests are invited to join the board of directors in wishing Haley and Brittany good luck as they travel to compete at the Miss Oklahoma and Miss Oklahoma Outstanding Teen pageants June 5-9 in Tulsa. Cupcakes and punch will be served.

Haley Ellison, Miss Southeast Oklahoma, has focused much of her time to her platform, Healthy Relationships Start with Respect, which focuses on dating violence awareness. Haley is a student at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is working to obtain a degree in communication with a minor in dance. She plans own and operate her own performing arts center. Haley is a vocalist and will perform “I’ll Stand by You” for her talent, as well as at the Send Off Party. She is the daughter of Mark and Kay Ellison of Durant.

Brittany Trent, Miss Southeast Oklahoma Outstanding Teen, has chosen the platform Senior C.A.R.E. She just completed her sophomore year at Durant High School and was just named President of her upcoming junior class. At Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen, Brittany will be performing a tap routine to Disney’s “Trashin The Camp,” which features a trash can drum solo. is an accomplished vocalist, having received numerous awards for her vocal and performing ability.
