After a week of gathering everything from empty water bottles to electronics, Choctaw Nation Recycling reports there are a total 1,812 pounds collected for the fire department and 472 pounds for Durant’s police department.

Recycling bins have been set up in the parking lot next to the old Goody’s on West Main and in the parking lot at 1415 W. Main across from First United Bank.

The recycling center is also accepting tires and electronics 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at its 3408 Wes Watkins Blvd. facility. Electronics must be delivered to the recycling center. For more information, call the Recycling Center at 580-920-0488.
