The First United Bank Chairman’s Club hosted its first ever “Oldies but Goodies” Antiques Appraisal Fair on Saturday, March 16 for club members.

Forty-six members of the First United Bank Chairman’s Club attended the event which was held at the Three Valley Museum in Durant.

Attendees brought with them heirlooms, vintage objects and various curiosities they have obtained to be appraised by experienced appraisers.

Each guest could have one item appraised for $10 or three appraised for $25. All proceeds from the event were donated to the museum.

While items were examined, attendees enjoyed refreshments and entertainment from Three Valley Museum Curator Nancy Ferris.

Ferris entertained attendees through song and facts about museum exhibits. After a Consensus about the object’s origin, use and value was formed, the appraisers shared their information with the owner.

A check for $500 raised by the event was presented to Ferris on Wednesday March 20 at the First United Bank located at 1400 W. Main St. in Durant.

Appraisers Toma Tyler, Judy Gibbons, Mike Gibbons, Linda Davison and bank president Bert Davison were present along with Maxine Julian and club director Barbara Coker to present the check.
