Durant Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire near a residence at 1420 Houston Street Wednesday. The vehicle was under a carport at the residence when responders arrived on scene. Lynn Edwards of the American Red Cross was at Red River Ford Friday afternoon to collect a check for $1,530. The check was one of many that the Red Cross is collecting from its annual Red Cross Hero campaign which takes place every March in honor of Red Cross Month.
