Immunization Clinic receives low turnout
The Bryan County Health Department held a Back to School Immunization Clinic all day on Wednesday March 20 but few showed up. All vaccines were free for birth to 18 years of age from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., that day. As of 3 p.m. only eight children had received vaccinations during the clinic. Reported last month, the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Durant chapter gave four donations to local organizations after their Thursday meeting on Feb. 14. Man charged with setting vacant house on fire
An arson charge has been filed against a Durant man following an investigation by the Durant police and fire departments into a fire that burned a vacant house. Firefighters respond to house and trash fires
A house burned early Sunday morning, according to the Durant Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched at 1:22 a.m. to 1023 Grand Ave. and upon arrival two minutes later, the home was engulfed with flames coming out all sides. A Mead woman was injured Sunday after losing control of her vehicle and rolling it, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
