The Air Force Academy is in the Mountain West Conference but they also play a tough non conference schedule. Last year they played in Michigan. It isn’t easy to get appointed to the Air Force Academy. Last year, there were over 12,000 applicants of which 2,331 were deemed qualified and only 1,035 applicants were admitted to the Air Force equivalent of the Army’s West Point.
