It was a successful start to the tennis season for Durant on Wednesday as the Lady Lions took second and the Lions placed third in the Duncan Invitational.
On the girls’ side, the tandem of Rebekah Corson and Sarah Routledge claimed top honors at number two doubles with an unbeaten run through the event.
Ally and Maci McCoy teamed for a second place showing at number one doubles while Brooke Leroy finished fourth at number one singles and Rylee Bradford claimed fifth at number two singles.
For the Lions, Guy Carey was the top placer in taking second at number one singles.
Blake Barron and Bo Mallett ended third at number one doubles with Micah Abrams and Jonathan Metts combining for a fourth place showing at number two doubles.
“I’m really proud of how all the kids represented our school for the first time out this season,” Durant head coach Jonathan Rodriguez said. “Most of them played very well and I am looking forward to a great season.”
The Lady Lions will be back in action at Ada today with the Lions also playing in Ada on Saturday for their next tournament.
