Muriel Carr, 88, of Utica entered this life on September 2, 1922, in Wolf Creek, OK born to William Afton and Carrie Mae (Woodward) Conditt and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 1, 2010 in Calera, OK at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 30 days. Muriel has been a lifetime resident of Bryan County. She married Phinace “Rooster” Carr on July 27, 1940 in Utica, OK and they were blessed with 2 sons, Bobby and Kerry. Muriel was a homemaker and a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to many. She was a member of the Utica Baptist Church and Utica Home Demonstration Club and she enjoyed quilting, cooking and taking care of others. Muriel will be greatly missed by all who knew and dearly loved her.

Muriel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Talmadge, W.A. and Billy Ray Conditt; sisters, Louise Robinson, Geraldine Simmons and Marnell Mulkey; and grandson, Michael Brent Carr.

Those loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are sons, Bobby Carr and wife Doris of Utica and Kerry Carr and wife Connie of Utica; sister, Norma Sullivan and husband Cecil of Durant; sister in law, Ima Jean Conditt of Durant; brother in law, Bud Mulkey of Durant; brother in law and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Carr; grandchildren, Kristi Valles and husband Darrell, Kellie Baker and husband Dusty, Casey Carr and wife Jana and Jason Carr and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Tyler and B.J. Tyler, Bo, Brock and Blair Baker and Jase Carr; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services to celebrate Muriel’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Jay Perry and Bro. Charles Loyd will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Casey Carr, Jason Carr, Keith Kuykendall, Brad Kuykendall, Daryl Mulkey, Tyler Davis and B.J. Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bo and Brock Baker.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Ladies Sunday School Class at Utica Baptist Church.
