Humphrey, a 6-foot170-pound native of Weatherford, Okla., wrapped up his playing career with the Savages earlier this season as he helped guide SOSU to its second-straight appearance in the LSC title game.
Humphrey was third on the squad this season in hitting with a .354 batting average while recording six doubles and two home runs as a senior. He was also third on the team in both slugging percentage (.479) and on-base percentage (.411).
Humphrey has been honored as Honorable-Mention All-LSC North and CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team after serving as the Savages' designated hitter for most of his senior campaign. Humphrey was a rare four-year starter for SOSU earning LSC North Freshman of the Year and Second Team honors in 2001. He ended his four-year stint with the Savages as career .307 in 143 games, starting 133 contests during his career.
To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.20 grade point average with a minimum of 24 semester hours at the nominating institution.
The All-Academic Team is selected from this list of academically qualified players, with the league's sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement. All qualifying student-athletes not selected for the All-Academic Team are then named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
