Time to change the mascot. After gutting out a 9-6 win over Byng's major team the Larry Dyson Durant American Legion fell 6-5 resulting in a split. Derek Daniel recorded his second win of the season with plenty of offense behind him.

In the nightcap, Durant didn't fare as well at the plate striking out 15 times, kept off balance by Byng's Mitch Worley.

Durant will travel to Shreveport, La., Thursday and begin pool play 3 p.m. Friday in the Centenary University Tournament. The tournament will be the first road trip for Durant (4-2) before returning home against the APS Colt 45's in a Tuesday doubleheader scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
