DURANT - Warrants have been issued for the arrests of two men accused of burglarizing churches and pawning the stolen items.

Charged Monday with three counts of second-degree burglary and one count of false declaration of ownership in pawn were Brian Marshal Hartman, 19, and Albert Lee Moses Jr., 25, both of Durant. Moses also was charged with misdemeanor larceny.

Police began investigating July 27 when a cellular telephone was reported stolen at the Durant First United Methodist Church. The victim told Patrolman Jesse Petty that two men had been in the church at the time of the theft. The same day, the director of the SOSU Wesley Center noticed a VCR and DVD player were missing.
