HUGO - The Durant Lady Lions are halfway to a 20-win season and at the halfway point in the two-month fastpitch season.
Durant advanced to 10-7 after a 15-0 win in seven innings at Hugo Tuesday.
Freshman Malerie Guilbeau recorded her second win of the season in the complete-game shutout. Guilbeau allowed just three hits with five strikeouts and no walks.
"Malerie's continuing to improve in the mental aspect of the game," said Durant coach Kent Pickens. "We finally gave her some run support, and that will have to continue in big-game situations if we are going to be successful."
The Lady Lions got off to a sluggish start offensively, with more than half of their runs coming in the top of the seventh inning.
