Lady Mustangs prevail over Broken Bow in White bracket finals

CALERA - The Rock Creek Lady Mustangs came out of the White bracket of the Richard Rials Memorial Tournament with a 3-2 win over Broken Bow Saturday.

Coach Lane Jackson's squad began bracket play with a 9-1 win over Valliant and topped Hugo 8-0 in the semifinals.

In the final, Dusty Gammon drove in Natalie Aplin with a walk-off double after the score was tied 2-all.

Whitney Phillips started the game throwing four innings. She allowed two runs on five hits and struck out three.

Angie Holland recorded the win in three innings of relief. She fanned one and allowed one hit.

Aplin led the offense going 2-4 with two runs. Phillips was 2-4 with one run and Gammon was 1-2.

In the semifinal, Holland recorded the win, fanning six in a two-hit shutout.

Dusty Gammon was 3-5 with a run. Aplin was 3-5, and Holland helped her cause batting 2-4.

Jennifer Summerholder was 1-3 with a double.

Against Valliant, Phillips struck out four, walked one and allowed four hits for the win.

Aplin was 2-3 with a home run, a walk, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Haley Parker was perfect at the plate, batting 3-3 with two runs.

Kassy Gammon was 2-2 with two runs.

Rock Creek's game against Healdton has been canceled.

They will play Dickson Tuesday and host the District against Silo and Tushka Thursday.
