There's been a change of plans for nearly all the area basketball teams. Bryan County likes its Sooner football.
Area schools, including Durant, have made alterations to Tuesday's schedule, the day of the Orange Bowl. There aren't many large rocks to live under in Bryan County, but just in case, USC will be playing Oklahoma for the National Championship at 7 p.m.
Durant is the only school moving the game up an entire day. Junior varsity will start things off 4:30 p.m. Monday at Sherman. The varsity girls will follow, with the boys playing in the nightcap.
Caddo is keeping its date hosting to Colbert, a highly anticipated game on the boys side. Although they maintain the Tuesday slate, tip-off for the girls has been moved up to 4:30 p.m., possibly earlier.
Calera will travel to Bennington Tuesday, in a game when hoops fan would likely miss the first half of the Orange Bowl. Bennington is moving the girls' game up one hour to a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
Achille was scheduled to host Rock Creek, but that game has been pushed back to Tuesday, Jan. 25. The Mustangs are unbeaten in conference and the Lady Eagles are undefeated on the season.
Silo has also postponed its game with Marietta. They will play that game on Saturday, Jan. 15.
