"Before employing violence against a neighbor, such as shooting his dog, or before going to court, there is another option," said Dick Fene, a court mediator who volunteers through Early Settlement, a state dispute resolution program.
Fene said many Bryan County residents are not aware that mediation is available for those in need. Many small claims court cases are referred for mediation, as are many family and divorce cases.
