Wildfires sweep across county

Driving down Highway 78 toward Achille shows a charred and, in some spots, still smoking, landscape. While it may appear the worst is over, the threat of fire still lurks in areas on both sides of the town.

Two locations, one on the east and one on the west side of Achille, remain a danger yet this morning after the fires that raged across Bryan County yesterday.
