Laureate Alpha Xi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at noon today in the home of Natalia Duval for a soup tasting event.
The Bokchito/Rock Creek Alumni Association will meet at 6 p.m. today at Frank's Cafe in Bokchito. All graduates, students, teachers and spouses are encouraged to attend the meeting and Dutch-treat dinner.
The Caddo Community Association and The Masonic Lodge will be co-hosting a fund-raiser for the Caddo Volunteer Fire Department today at 6 p.m. in the Boland Park Community Building. Refreshments will be served. At 7 p.m. there will be a pie and cake auction. All proceeds and donations will go to the fire department. They lost a fire truck in one of the recent fires, and have also incurred extra expenses due to the number of blazes in the area. The Durant Education and Service Sorority will have a movie night at the Rex II Theatre in Caddo today. Social time begins at 6 p.m., the movie will begin at 6:30. All members are encouraged to attend and bring a guest.
An open meeting for parents of students in the Colbert School District will be at 3 p.m. today in the auditorium. Parents will discuss the AIDS Awareness program.

Chapter DJ, P.E.O. Sisterhood, will meet Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the home of Marty Manahan with Helen Gaskin and Eleanor Lee serving as co-hostesses. A Founders' Day program will be given by Carla Rainbolt.
Wednesday
The Bryan County Master Gardeners will hold their meeting Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Bryan County Extension Office, South Ninth Avenue, Durant. This month's program will be gardening chores to be done in February and March in preparation for spring. Specifically, instructions on pruning will be provided. The Silo Volunteer Fire Department, Shamrock Bank and area citizens are having a benefit supper at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the Silo School cafeteria for the fire department. The meal will include hamburgers, chips and drink. A pie and cake auction will follow. Donations per plate are accepted.

Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Continuing Education is offering a first aid and CPR course, taught by Linda Rose, ARC certified instructor. The Mary Quisenberry Chapter DAR will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 2022 W. Liveoak for their monthly meeting and President's Tea. A program on American patriot Nathan Hale will be shared. Anyone with an interest in geneology that might trace their ancestry to anyone who assisted in the American Revolutionary War effort is encouraged and welcome to attend.
