DURANT - Malicious mischief, a fight between boyfriend and girlfriend and a motorcycle theft were among crimes investigated by Durant Police recently.
A man told Lt. Sonny Stewart that someone has been tossing roofing nails in the parking lot at Cheyenne's Club, 2501 W. Main St., and his driveway. The victim said this has happened six times and that he has also found nails in his mother's driveway.
Friday, a resident in the 800 block of Parkview Drive told Patrolman Brad Nelson that when he returned home that day, he saw that his Suzuki motorcycle had been ripped off. The steering column was locked and the victim told the officer that the thieves must have loaded it onto a trailer.
Six bullet holes were found in a delivery truck at Locke Supply at 2108 W. Evergreen St. According to Patrolman Brad Nelson's Friday report, the holes were in the side of the vehicle. Photos were taken but no other evidence was found.
The Bryan Baptist Association at 1925 W. Main St. reported a $2,500 single-axle box trailer stolen Saturday. The trailer was parked on the southwest side of the building and had a lock on the hitch.
A woman in the 700 block of South Sixth Avenue told Patrolman John Butler Friday that a CD player, check book, leather bag and a flashlight had been stolen out of her pickup.
Patrolman Russell Harkey investigated a fight between boyfriend and girlfriend early Saturday morning at an apartment complex in the 1211 N. Second Ave. When Harkey arrived, a woman told him her boyfriend accused her of cheating and whacked her in the legs with a wooden post and punched her in the head. The suspect left the scene before police arrived but he was found later that morning in the 400 block of Southeast Fourth Avenue.
He claimed he hit his girlfriend with the post two days ago and the fight that evening had only been verbal, according to the report. He was arrested for suspicion of domestic violence.
