She was born Friday, Aug. 31, 1917, in Miller Township, Ind., to Harry Thomas and Ruth Ann (Harper) Fondong. She married Floyd Leroy Maddox April 4, 1944, in Richmond, Calif. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Durant. She loved helping her neighbors and friends and sitting with the sick in the hospital. She was a homemaker, gardener and a good Samaritan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband in 1991.
She is survived by her son Paul Maddox and wife Bev, Gaylord, Mich.; daughters Linda Russell, Calera, and Betty Corbett and husband Leon, Van Alstyne, Texas; brothers Clarance Fondong and wife Nadine, Lawrenceburg, Ind.; sisters Louella Fondong, Dillsboro, Ind., Edith Russell, Milan, Ind.; grandchildren Kelley and James Russell, Everett, Wash., Michael Corbett and wife Sherri, Van Alstyne, Richard and Matthew Maddox, Gaylord, Randy Corbett and wife Melinda, Lewisville, Texas; step-great-grandchildren Matthew Agee and Jonathan Franks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calera.
