There will be an Indian taco supper from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Hendrix Community Center. The cost will be $5 for adults, $2.50 for children under 12. This includes taco, dessert and drink.
Calera Masons to host scholarship dinner April 2
The third annual Calera Masons Scholarship Dinner, sponsored by the Rising Star Lodge No. 129, Calera, will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at the Calera School cafeteria. Brisket with side dishes and tea will be $6 per person, $3 children 12 and under. Proceeds will go to Calera seniors for post-secondary education expenses.
Carson & Barnes Circus set for April 4 in Durant
Durant Area Chamber of Commerce will present Carson & Barnes Circus with the Biggest Big Top on Earth April 4, on Choctaw grounds next to outdoor arena. General admission is $16 for adults, $12 in advance, and $8 for children, $6 in advance.
Dollar raffle buys chance at $25 worth of gas
Landmark Bank is hosting a raffle, featuring $25 in free gas from Chuck's Corner, to raise money for Relay For Life. See any banker for $1 chance to win. This will be going on until April 21.
Free tax help offered at Durant Senior Center
AARP is offering free tax help for individuals with low and middle-class income at the Durant Senior Center, located at 301 N. 16th. The hours are 12:30-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 15. Individuals need to bring a copy of last year's return, forms sent by IRS, copies of W2s, 1099s, SSA-1099 forms from Social Security benefits and all other income statements.
Relay For Life captains meeting is Thursday
The Relay For Life team captains meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. March 23 in the Landmark Bank lobby. All captains are encouraged to attend.
First United silent auction benefits Relay For Life
First United Bank is hosting a silent auction until April 7 for Relay For Life. Items will be set up on a table in the lobby for bidding by customers and employees.

Landmark Bank will be selling cookbooks through the night of the Relay For Life event April 28. “Just a Better Cookbook II” are selling for $10. Included are recipes from Landmark Bankers from all of their locations.
Conversational Spanish course starts April 5
Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Continuing Education Department is hosting a Conversational Spanish course. Shawnte Wrice will be the instructor. Textbook may be required. The class will meet from 7-9 p.m. April 5 through May 10 on Wednesdays in the University Center room 215. The fee for this course is $55. To register, please call Continuing Education at 745-2871.
