Assistance Center of Bryan County Grand Opening Friday

DURANT - The Assistance Center of Bryan County will have its grand opening at 10 a.m. Friday. Acronymed ACBC, the assistance center is located at 1303 Waco Street in Durant.

The opening ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. followed by an open house until 2 p.m. Also as part of the Grand Opening, Shamrock Bank will be providing food and drinks, and all donations made will go to the Assistance Center of Bryan County.

ACBC is a non-profit organization made up of many help programs in the county. Those organizations participating include Bryan County Branch of the Southeast Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross, Durant Ministerial Alliance, Families Feeding Families, Loaves and Fishes, Salvation Army, and Special Olympics.

Volunteer support for the Assistance Center of Bryan County is provided by the Bryan County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

Leadership for this project is being provided by Big Five Community Services, Bryan County Commissioners, and the Durant Police Department.

The purpose of the assistance center is to provide a place where people in need can receive material, emotional, and spiritual help.

“Come celebrate the ACBC grand opening, enjoy some good food, and check out the new cooperative effort to help those in need in Bryan County,” said Jim Hodson, Chairperson.
