A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Armstrong, for Charles Edward Thomas, 57, Durant, who passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at his residence. Bro. Doyle Pair, Bro. Clyde Robinson and Bro. Jeremy Parham will officiate.

He was born Saturday, Sept. 11, 1948, in Bennington to Jessie Williams and Eva (Gaither) Thomas. He married Linda Kay Dooley April 10, 1967, in Sherman, Texas. He was self employed as a painter and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed working with cows, camping, boating, farming and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Laverne Calhoun, formerly of Antlers; brothers Cecil Thomas, formerly of Boswell, Billy Thomas, formerly of Mead, and Johnny Thomas, formerly of Blue Ridge, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of the home; daughter Angie Cook and husband Jerry, Bokchito; son Terry Thomas, Holdenville; grandchildren Jerica Cook, Bokchito, Tera Thomas, Durant, Taylor Thomas, Durant, Zachary Cook, Bokchito; brothers Jessie Thomas and wife Lillian, Bokchito, Ray Thomas and wife Rozelle, Blue, Donnie Thomas and wife Sue, Eustace, Texas, Darrell Thomas, Stringtown; sister Mattie Pebsworth and husband Jerry, Eustace; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger Zachary, Jerry Welch, Billy Ray Thomas, Bobby Thomas, Dewayne Pebsworth and Scotty Thomas will serve as pallbearers.

Family hour is from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home.
