DURANT - Southeastern Oklahoma State cracked the National Association of Basketball Coaches' national poll for the first time as an NCAA Division II institution Tuesday afternoon when it checked in at No. 19.

The Savage Storm (7-0) is riding a seven-game winning streak and is off to their best start since 1996-97.

That season also marks the last occasion that Southeastern was ranked nationally as the Savages climbed as high as No. 5 in the NAIA after opening the season with 13-straight wins.

Southeastern puts its first NCAA Division II ranking on the line Wednesday night when it plays host to the University of the Sciences and Arts of Oklahoma (1-6) out of Chickasha at Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
