Services for Gordon “Lil Wick” Bruce, 83, of Caney, who passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at his home in Caney, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Brown's Durant Funeral Chapel. Rev. Kerry Groce will officiate.

Gordon was born June 8, 1923, in Mead, Oklahoma, to Frank Paul and Melrose (Mansker) Bruce. Gordon attended school in Mead. He married Leila Herzog in 1986 in Weatherford, Texas. Gordon owned and operated a successful tape, texture, and painting business. He was of the Baptist faith. Gordon enjoyed ballroom dancing, coon hunting and spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Melrose Bruce; sister, Virginia; and brother, Roy Bruce.

Survivors include his wife Leila Bruce of the home; son, Terry Bruce and wife Karen of Roy, Washington; son, Richard Bruce and wife Susie of California; daughter, Karen Dickey and husband Bobby of Fort Worth, Texas; son Terry Kelley and wife Nancy of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Mary Lilley of Mead; brother, James Bruce and wife Shirley of Borger, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Family hour will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
