Services will be at 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the Coffey-Murray Funeral Home for Richard “R.V.” Rodgers, 87, Durant, who died Monday, March 12, 2007, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 8, 1919, in Caddo to Richard and Birdie (Buchanan) Rodgers. He married Billie Jo Miller July 8, 1941, in Durant. He served in the U.S. Air Force attached to the 51 Training Group. He was also the owner/operator of R V Rodgers TV repair shop, which was started in 1938. RV helped work on the Denison Dam, was an electrician and a member of the First Christian Church faith. He was a lifetime resident of Bryan County.

He was preceded in death by his wife on July 18, 1997, son Billie Virgil Rodgers and parents.

He is survived by son Kenny Rodgers and wife Mary, Durant; daughters Jolene Self and husband Joe G., Durant; granddaughters Melissa Dawn Lawson, Durant, Kristy Goodwin and husband Patrick, Ratlift City, Tonya Rodgers, Durant; grandson Richard “B.J.” Rodgers, Durant.

Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
