Fred Alan Roper, 84, of Bokchito passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Durant. Fred was born January 8, 1927 in Kenefic, OK to Louis Sullivan Roper and Opal (Hodges) Roper. He has lived all of his life in Bryan County attending Kenefic and Cobb Schools. He married Gay Kropp on September 18, 1948 in Sherman, TX. He was a member of Caddo Baptist Church he loved dominos, checkers and he was a member of the US Army during WWII.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Roper and Jack Roper, sister in laws, Geneva Roper (wife of John) and Emma Roper (wife of Jack) and a brother in law, Matt Cawein.

Fred is survived by his wife of the home, two sons, Charles Alan Roper of Bokchito and Fred Donald Roper and wife Terry of Mesquite, TX, granddaughters, Gretchen Roper Baughman and husband Ron of Lawton, OK, two grandsons, Chad Fitzgerald Roper of Spring, TX and Benjamin Hamilton Roper and wife Ashley of New Orleans, LA, 4 great grandchildren, Raymond and Lucas Roper of New Orleans, LA, and Chantel and Trea Baughman of Lawton, OK, brother, Louis Sullivan Roper and wife Louise of Leewood, KS and two sisters Betty Jane Roper and husband Oscar Perry of Las Vegas, NV and Joan Roper Cawein of Wyoming, OH.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Family hour will be Friday from 6-7 PM. Interment will be at Rose Hill in Calera.
