Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Highland Cemetery for Willie Leon Cross, 77, Bennington, who died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Jan Lee will officiate.

He was born March 20, 1930, in Durant to Charlie and Annie (Puckett) Cross. He married Lynn Mullens June 18, 1998. He worked as a machinest and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking and training dogs. He loved talking about old Indian ways and traditions and loved to laugh, tell jokes and help anyone who needed it.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Faye McGee Cross Nov. 5, 1991, and his parents.

He is survived by Vickie Lynn (Vansickle) Cross, Bennington; sons Charles “Chuck” Cross, Ashdown, Ark., and Johnnie Cross, Weatherford, Texas; daughters Carolyn, Dallas, Texas, Belinda “Diana” Kirk, Ada, and Evelyn Rhodes, Caddo; brothers Monroe Cross, Durant; sister Catherine Standridge, Durant; stepdaughter Mary Jane Noland, Bennington; stepson Max Vansickle, Bennington; 14 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
