Durant Main Street will be holding its Ninth Annual Street Carnival Saturday. The event will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the Market Square Parking Lot at First and Evergreen. Several new activities will be added this year that promise to make this year's event the best ever.

The petting zoo will feature photos with animals, and kids will have a chance to feed the animals. Events include Guitar Hero, a roping experience, and a basketball shooting game. Clowns will be handing out balloons, games and activities will be available, and hot dogs will be for sale. The cakewalk and bingo are always popular, as is the hay ride. You never know who will be in the dunking booth. The big attraction for the kids is the inflatable obstacle course.

Local businesses, organizations and individuals work together to make this a successful endeavor. Aside from being a fundraiser to enhance Christmas fun, Durant Main Street wants to make this a special night that children will remember.

This is an annual fundraising event for improving downtown Christmas activities. Organizers have set fundraising goals in hopes of being able to increase the amount distributed during the Shopping Spree Giveaway from mid-November until Christmas.

Tickets are only 25 cents each or 25 for $5. Activities and food cost anywhere from 1-6 tickets. Call (580) 924-1550 for more information.
