Opal Juanita (Scoggins) Creech, 86, of Achille, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 12, 2008, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant.

She was born March 20, 1921, in Achille, to George and Annie Smith Scoggins. She attended Achille schools and married Jack “Buddy” Creech on Oct. 22, 1948, in Reno, Nev. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Achille for more than 60 years and served as pianist and church secretary.

Her interests included gardening, crossword puzzles, bowling, fishing and hunting. She also enjoyed watching professional football and baseball. She also loved to sing gospel music and play the organ and the piano.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents; sister Ruby Suter and brother Troy Scoggins, both of Durant.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, of the home; sister Dovie Lane, Durant; brother Wayne Scoggins, Norman; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services for Opal will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Achille, with pastor Larry Metts and Reverand Mike Lane officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetary in Achille.

Pallbearers will be Troy Scoggins, Greg Scoggins, Mickey Scoggins, Terry Cole, Stephen Duncan and Stanley Wells.

Family night will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
