Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nida Baptist Church, Nida, for William Chris (Bill) Covington, 71, Milburn, who died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Wilson N. Jones Hospital, Sherman, Texas. Rev. James Robinson will officiate.

He was born Sunday, March 22, 1936, in Nida to Raymond Menco and Ruby Inez (Warden) Covington. He was a rancher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Carley Covington, and aunt Cleta Fay Kilburn.

He is survived by sons Chris Covington, Calera, Kelly Covington, Dallas, Texas, Shawn Covington, Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren Joshua Covington, Elizabeth Covington, Jordan Covington, Hayden Covington, Cole Covington, Aerin Covington; great-grandchildren Ian Covington, Ava Puga and Khanner Hampton; brothers Lynn Wayne Covington, Fort Worth, Texas, Raymond Duane Covington, Denison, Texas; aunt Winifred Hendricks, Durant; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery with Joshua Covington, Chase Harris, Terry Covington, Hayden Covington, Joshua Duer and Craig Hughes serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Green, Cole Covington, Sheldon Puga, Gary Quesenberry and Micky Mochau.

Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
